Meet 'Boundary stomper' Aunt Judy

Picture
Hattie? Where did you run off to? OH! Hello. Who are you?

Are you the ones asking about Hattie and that book about her that just came out? Have you seen her?

I don’t want to give her a hug, so I’m pretty sure she’s not running away from me again. I used to be a- what did Great-Grandma call it- a boundary stomper, but I learned my lesson. Although Hattie does still wrinkle her nose whenever I go near her. I don’t think that has anything to do with me, though. Maybe she has allergies.

Well, if you see her again, will you please tell her Uncle Jake and Aunt Celia want to play a game of horseshoes with her?

Thanks! Let me give my new friends a big hug. No?

Alright then. One more thing! Sarah wanted to share a couple of spreads from the book. Isn't that artwork by Heather Brockman Lee beautiful?

I think our family is heading out now. Bye!

Meet 'Loves the hugs' Luis

Picture
 Boo!

Did I surprise you? Ha! I’m supposed to tell you how I loooove hugs, and tickles, but I couldn’t resist jumping out at you.

Oh, sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Luis. Hattie is my cousin. She told me there’s a book coming out on April 5 all about how she hates hugs. At first, I didn’t know that about her but now I do. Because she told me.

Even though I love hugs, and tickles too, I never hug Hattie. Well, not anymore. But you know what? Some other people kept hugging her, even though she tried to tell them not to.

That was Aunt Judy, mostly. She’s around here somewhere. You’ll know which one she is because she smells like asparagus. But I still love her hugs. And tickles, too. Not Hattie, though. Ok, time to play.

Err, there was something else Sarah wanted me to tell you. Oh yeah! Heather Brockman Lee, the amazing illustrator of Hattie Hates Hugs, made a coloring page to share with everyone. You can download it below or on the Books page.

That was it. Bye!
