I was often told I was “so bookish” as a kid. If you’re here you may have been told that as well. So I’m probably addressing the right audience when I exclaim “Can you believe they meant that as an insult?”
In the environments I know now; my home, friends, social medias; being “so bookish” is a compliment. I don’t think that’s just because I’m an adult now and can choose my environments. I think there has been a fundamental shift in what society idealizes. Maybe not fully, but at least a little.
This blog is for all things bookish. As a writer, I’ll post about writing techniques and habits, commiserate about the journey, and announce my own and other writers’ successes and news. As a reader and a homeschooling mother, I’ll share about books I’m reading and anticipating, what my kids are free reading and reading for school, and tips for teaching and encouraging reading skills.
Check out the rest of my website for more information about me and my books. You can also read the shenanigans of the indomitable Granny Greta in my sci-fi web serial.
Thanks for stopping by.
